Birthday Party!
Nathan and Mackenzie share the same birthday so until Nathan is old enough to realize it, they have also been sharing their birthday parties, too. Other than the fact that the parties have girl themes and they are decorated in pink, this seems to work out well since they are only two years apart and tend to play with the same friends. Pin the horn on the unicorn, a butterfly pinata, and purple popcorn balls were all a big hit!

Hard at play and hard at sleep
The Final Triple Birthday Party
Jamie, Austin, and Curtis all share the same birthday, May 1. We have gotten together every year to celebrate. This year will be our last, so it was somewhat bittersweet. Laurie and Curtis were moving in a few days and Wendy and Austin were moving in a few weeks. It was such a great night and a great way to say good-bye. We have been lucky to have such dear friends. Hunting, trips to COSI, meeting at the park and the swimming pool, having the kids play together, and aerobics won't be the same without them.
We love the DeKays!
Robert, Bethany, Hannah, and Winni DeKay all came for one last visit before they move to Alaska. We spent the weekend playing their Wii and we ate at a fun new restaurant, Pei Wei. We have spent many weekends traveling back and forth to Louisville and Cinncinati to see them. They have been such wonderful friends ever since we met them in Kentucky. We will miss having them so close, but we look forward to our fun traveling adventures we will have together in the future! We can't wait to visit them in Alaska!
Guess who made this mess?
I would love to say that one of the kids smeared fingernail polish all over the bathroom or that even Mark did this, but no. It was me! Even Mother's make messes. My fingernail polish bottle fell out of the cabinet and it my efforts to catch it, it broke open against the wall and splattered all over the counter. After cleaning up the broken glass and pink goo, this is what was left. I should have taken a picture of when it first happened but my hands were covered in nail polish and little shards of glass. I bought some awesome nail polish remover and it all came right off. Lesson of the day: Even Mom's make messes and almost any mess can be cleaned up and if it can't, well there are worse things that can happen.
